Katia received her degree in Architecture and Urbanism from Universidade Mackenzie (Mackenzie University). She began working as a photographer in the 90s at Ruy Ohtake's office. Nowadays, she develops her work with other architects, engineers, designers and consultants in order to register and widespread their enterprise. Her personal production consists of fine art (Elkis Photo Gallery) and thematic photographic rehearsals. Recognition of the excellence of her work includes the Architecture Photography Award from the Instituto dos Arquitetos do Brasil, 1996 (Brazilian Architects‚ Institute, 1996). She has had some of her images published in Bienal de Arquitetura de Veneza Catalogue, 2006. Moreover, she has contributed to a photographic book of Buenos Aires - Argentina entitled Íconos Porteños. She uses formal and innovative approaches that capture images from a personalized perspective.
